Singer/Songwriter, Musician, Artist, Photographer, Sculptor, & Poet - Nathaniel Maloney - JOURNAL http://nathanielmaloney.com/blog.html Nathaniel Maloney: JOURNAL Jannis' PHPRss class - http://www.jannis.to/ Fri, 02 Mar 2012 13:20:01 -0800 Nature Element in 2d Composition http://nathanielmaloney.com/blog.html/nature_element_in_2d_composition As a class we were asked to photograph the human element for our collage's that we have worked on.  Since I commute to college and also have a part time job, it was too difficult for me to join a group to do a photo shoot for the human element.  I asked the professor if it were possible if I could do something with nature as a nature element kind of like the artist Andy Goldsworthy does.  


I went to a nearby park called "Twinsburg Ledges" and was really happy I did because I was even able to find some icicles to use hanging from the ledges!  It fit well with the black and white collage showing the difference in contrast, because I took the icicles and arranged them on a stone with moss grown on it.  It was not only too distinct different tones, but also representing two distinct differences of what we see in seasons.

Each student chose a paper bag with items inside of it. The assignment is to be done in charcoal and using eraser to strengthen the contrast between shadow and light.
